Implementation Engineer
Role Overview
The Implementation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-class data center and network infrastructure. The role involves working across both brownfield and greenfield environments, collaborating with global teams, and delivering solutions that align with organizational and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco and Arista technologies, network automation, and data center fabrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Implement changes according to defined project governance and change management processes.
- Participate in multiple projects / programs, occasionally guiding junior engineers and peers.
- Evaluate site network infrastructure and operations; assess customers current and future plans to optimize architecture and capabilities.
- Support, implement, and troubleshoot Cisco and Arista routing and switching environments including Nexus (9K, 7K, 5K, 3K) and Arista switches.
- Engineer solutions for new deployments (greenfield) and upgrades / migrations (brownfield).
- Install, configure, and support Cisco routers (2800, 2900, 3900 series) and switches (4500, 6500, 3750, 3560, etc.).
- Troubleshoot advanced routing / switching issues involving VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VTP, and STP .
- Work with vendors and internal teams for site surveys, hardware installations, and configuration delivery.
- Write change documentation and perform peer reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
- Provide post-change support and root cause analysis for incidents.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security standards.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (IT, Telecom, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in data center network engineering with large-scale deployments.Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Nexus Fabric and / or Arista switches , including Arista CloudVision Portal (CVP).Deep knowledge of VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, and OSPF protocols in complex enterprise / DC environments.Experience with both brownfield and greenfield environments .Proficiency in Ansible (primary) and Python (secondary) for network automation.Familiarity with Linux / Unix systems, Cisco DNA Center, and Fortinet firewalls is a plus.CCNA required, CCNP preferred, CCIE (or equivalent experience) highly preferred .Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, spoken, presentation) with ability to work independently and in teams.Availability to work in US time zones and weekends for deployments and project needs.Additional Requirements
Knowledge of fiber optic connectivity (ST, SC, LC).Hands-on with SecureCRT / Putty, SSH configuration / testing.Knowledge of LAN / WAN hardware infrastructure changes, QoS, and Cisco switch stack configurations .Experience with Arista and WAAS devices is a plus.
