Location : Buenos Aires, Argentina Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fixed Income Trader to join our trading team in Buenos Aires.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Argentine fixed income market, with hands-on experience trading ARS local currency bonds, global bonds, and FX.
This individual will play a critical role in executing and managing trades, developing trading strategies, and monitoring macroeconomic developments that impact local and global bond markets.
Key Responsibilities Execution & Trading Execute trading strategies across a range of ARS-denominated sovereign bonds, global bonds, and associated FX positions.
Maintain real-time awareness of market flows, liquidity conditions, and pricing dynamics to ensure best execution.
Strategy Development Develop and implement short-term and medium-term trading strategies to capitalize on market dislocations and opportunities.
Provide market color and trade ideas to the broader investment team, leveraging local expertise and market relationships.
Market Monitoring & Analysis Continuously monitor local macroeconomic indicators, monetary policy announcements, fiscal developments, and geopolitical events that impact the Argentine fixed income and FX markets.
Analyze credit risk, interest rate risk, and currency exposure to ensure alignment with overall portfolio objectives and risk appetite.
Risk & Liquidity Management Actively manage liquidity, funding costs, and overall risk exposures within approved limits.
Coordinate with risk management and treasury teams to optimize balance sheet usage and funding strategies.
Maintain a disciplined approach to position sizing, stop-loss adherence, and risk-reward assessments.
Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers, market makers, and counterparties to enhance market access and execution quality.
Represent the firm in local market discussions and contribute to building a strong franchise presence in the Argentine market.
Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 3 years of hands-on trading experience in ARS local currency bonds, global bonds, and FX markets.
In-depth knowledge of Argentine macroeconomic and political landscape, central bank policy, and debt issuance dynamics.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly interpret complex market data and translate it into actionable strategies.
Demonstrated track record of risk management and P&L generation in volatile market environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CFA designation is a plus.
