Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract opportunity with an acute care hospital in the San Luis Obispo CA area. This position offers a consistent night shift schedule and the opportunity to support an experienced inpatient pharmacy team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

We are seeking a pharmacy technician with extensive hospital experience strong sterile compounding skills and the ability to thrive in an inpatient setting.

Assignment Details

• Start: July 27 2026
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Schedule: Night Shift
• Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts (5:30pm4:00am)
• Call: None

Requirements

• Active California Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience required
• Sterile compounding experience required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Assist with medication order processing and inventory management
• Support daily inpatient pharmacy workflow and medication distribution
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with USP standards and hospital policies for sterile compounding
• Collaborate with pharmacists nurses and other healthcare professionals to support safe and effective patient care
