AI Creative Strategist

KittySpout / DoggySpout is looking for a Performance Creative Strategist to join our team! As our creative strategist, you will be responsible for the ideation, scripting, planning, and managing of the entire creative process with a heavy focus on Meta VSLs, UGC ads, and high-converting direct response ads - short and long form - that scale across our paid channels. We spend $2,000,000+ per month on Meta. We are looking to hire someone with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate has deep DTC experience in performance creative, runs a current AI stack in production, has experience briefing short and long form VSLs and delivers volume and quality in the same week, without being chased.

We sell across Shopify, Amazon, and Chewy, and we're one of the fastest-growing brands in the pet space — $22M+ in revenue and targeting $45-50M in 2026. Key Objectives:

• Manage the full creative process (from scripting all the way to final creative) in order to produce high converting creatives on an ongoing basis.
• Drive measurable improvements in core advertising metrics across digital channels with improved creatives.
• Script Direct response creatives
• Use data from creative performance on Meta to dissect, analyze and improve upon our creatives to continuously improve performance across our creatives.
• Work with our marketing team to come up with new creative concepts and ideas.
• Conduct strategic customer and competitor research to better optimize creative efforts
• Provide creative reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Decide on the next steps needed to scale Meta Ads further through better creative
• Produce a minimum of 15 ad briefs per week, maintaining volume and quality simultaneously — without being chased.

Requirements

• Fully remote
• Fluent in English
• Direct Response Expertise: 3+ Years Experience with performance creative for DTC brands or working at a creative agency is a must.
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience interpreting performance data from platforms such as Northbeam, Facebook Ads, leveraging spreadsheets and reporting tools to extract insights, inform strategy and communicate campaign ideas and results.
• No issue working overtime or on the weekends if needed. You wouldn't know what to do with your free time if you were working less. You are passionate about your work.
• Excellent cultural fit as per our values above.

• Proven VSL copywriting experience on DR / performance brands
• Deep DTC Experience: You can name the brands and the spend levels behind your work — not just categories.
• Meta VSLs: Proven experience with both short and long form Meta VSLs. Long form is the bulk of what we run.
• AI Stack: You run a current AI stack in production — not one you tried once.
• Output: You deliver volume and quality in the same week, without being chased.
• Deep fluency with DTC and modern consumer brands

Examples of What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop VSL briefings end-to-end: angle, hook, script, structure
• Design AI-driven concepts and hooks for paid video
• Partner with editors and performance marketers on testing
• Iterate strategy based on creative performance data

How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate:

KPIs and performance targets will be defined together before your start date so expectations are crystal clear from day one.

Salary Expectation

USD $3,000 - $6,000 per month base (based on experience and expertise) + percentage of ad spend bonus structure.

We spend $2,000,000+ per month on Meta only.
