Who are we looking for?
Staff / Chief Scientist Ammonia Technologist is expected to initiate, propose and execute research and development, debottlenecking / revamp, energy‑saving, and sustainability improvement programs directed toward the improvement of processes and commercial technologies. The candidate will lead in‑house new process technology development, scale‑up, and implementation in commercial plants, provide technology support to commercial plants for shutdown, turnover, and recommissioning, and offer trouble‑shooting & root‑cause analysis support to drive problem resolution. The role initially supports growth projects and evaluates licensing technologies from main licensors to select the best technology.
Qualifications
- Masters or PhD preferred.
- 15 years of experience in new product development, preferably with start‑ups; collaboration with start‑ups and prior interactions desired.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Leadership skills to influence highly talented people across disciplines and cultures.
- Ability to create, foster, and drive a culture of innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly self‑motivated.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide directions and lead green, blue ammonia development, technology, and project selection.Be aware of decarbonization solutions in the industry and link them to technology selection.Offer trouble‑shooting & root‑cause analysis support for commercial plants.Develop plant‑wide models in Aspen Plus or similar and guide plant improvements and performance.Carry out energy and mass balance calculations, energy optimization / pinch studies, pump hydraulics calculations, heat exchanger design & calculations, catalyst performance evaluation, feasibility studies, and revamp studies.Independently review engineering documents and steer technology selection and improvements.Provide technology support for shutdown, turnover, and recommissioning of commercial plants.Collaborate with external companies, start‑ups, and universities and lead projects toward implementation.Provide insights, directions, and support to product development within the group.Actively contribute to safety culture, coach young employees, and initiate new programs.Benefits
