Full-Stack Engineer (Backend-Heavy)

Type of Employment : Full-Time

Location : Remote (LATAM only)

About the Role

We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer with strong backend expertise to join a team supporting a rapidly growing voice AI company. You will build internal tools that help operations scale and also contribute to technical customer deployments - connecting our AI systems with real business environments.

This is not a pure coding role - you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and sometimes with end-customers to understand needs, propose technical solutions, and ship working software quickly. What You Will Do

Internal Tools & Infrastructure

  • Build internal tools and dashboards to increase team efficiency
  • Collaborate with forward-deployed engineers to translate pain points into software
  • Create lightweight UIs (React) only when needed for internal-facing tools
  • Integrate systems and services to streamline workflows

Customer-Facing Technical Work

  • Participate in customer deployments of AI voice solutions
  • Build and maintain backend integrations (APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, data handoffs)
  • Troubleshoot and solve production issues in collaboration with customer-facing engineers
  • Scope and implement technical solutions.
  • Full-Stack Engineering

  • Backend development using Node.js
  • Frontend with React / Next.js when needed (20 30% of time)
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Apply security and performance best practices
  • AI-Tooling Integration

  • Use AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) in your development workflow
  • Combine traditional development with AI-accelerated delivery
  • Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong backend development with Node.js
  • Experience building internal tools for service / operations environments
  • Comfortable working directly with internal stakeholders and end-customers
  • Proven ability to self-scope and deliver without step-by-step tickets
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • English fluency (written & spoken)
  • Nice to Have

  • Experience with Twilio or voice / telephony APIs
  • Familiarity with AI platforms or conversational AI
  • Startup or consulting / service company experience
  • Experience with real-time or event-driven architectures

  • Not a pure coding / ticket role - expectation of initiative & discovery
  • Not maintenance work - building new systems & integrations
  • Not slow-paced or heavily guided - ambiguity and speed are part of the job
