Role Overview We’re hiring an Agentic Automations Engineering Manager — a hybrid player-coach who leads engineering delivery across client-facing automation projects while also building and scaling our engineering team.
This is not a back-office management role.
You’ll operate at the intersection of project delivery and talent building, ensuring technical excellence on live client engagements while recruiting and mentoring top-tier engineers and technical product managers.
You’ll partner closely with our CTO, architects, and lead engineers to ensure our delivery teams ship scalable, production-grade automation systems.
At the same time, you’ll help grow the function by driving hiring, onboarding, and team development as Assembly scales in response to client demand.
What You’ll Do Own engineering delivery across multiple automation / AI implementation projects, ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met Act as a technical escalation point for engineers and TPMs, resolving blockers and integration challenges Partner with TPMs, execution leads, and solutions consultants to align engineering feasibility with client needs Manage and mentor a growing team of AI-focused engineers, providing technical oversight on code quality, APIs, and architecture decisions Build internal engineering playbooks, reusable modules, and delivery best practices for agentic / automation systems Drive recruitment of technical talent (engineers, TPMs, AI systems builders), designing pipelines that prioritize curiosity and agency Lead onboarding and team integration to ensure new hires ramp quickly into our systems and standards Stay current on trends in agent systems, orchestration frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI), and prompt engineering patterns (CoT, ReAct, ToT) Collaborate with technical leadership to align delivery with our opinionated architectural stack Required Experience 6+ years in backend software engineering, automation systems, or AI-enabled infrastructure delivery 2+ years in engineering leadership or technical lead roles Proven ability to drive project delivery across multiple stakeholders without compromising quality Strong backend engineering foundation (Java preferred) with experience in microservices, APIs, and task orchestration Familiarity with NoSQL / document databases and distributed systems Competence with Python for prototyping and LLM integration Awareness of LLM system design (prompt chaining, RAG pipelines, orchestration) Experience recruiting and scaling high-performing technical teams in fast-paced environments Ability to coach engineers on architecture, code quality, and growth without micromanagement Bonus Points Hands-on experience building or deploying agentic / LLM-based workflows in production Familiarity with enterprise deployment strategies for automation systems Experience in consulting, technical services, or AI-native delivery organizations You Might Be a Fit If You Love bridging the gap between engineering rigor and fast-moving client delivery Thrive in high-agency environments where you drive clarity and unblock execution Are equally motivated by solving technical problems and building strong teams Balance big-picture technical awareness with hands-on coaching and delivery oversight This is a remote position open to candidates based in Argentina.
