Anypear is a headhunting and recruitment agency connecting New Zealand and Australian businesses with top overseas talent. We are currently on the lookout for a talented Video Editor to assist a UK-based media company in creating captivating content centered around astronomy and space exploration.
As a Video Editor, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw footage into visually appealing stories that engage and educate viewers about the wonders of the universe. If you're passionate about astronomy and have the expertise to bring stories to life through video, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Edit and produce high-quality long form videos that incorporate live action and animation footage, utilising video editing software and and collaborating with animators
- Archive Research - Search databases for relevant high-quality images, footage and visuals.
- Source, download, select and import suitable media elements (videos, images, audio)
- Work closely with the creator and the production team to ensure all video content is accurate, informative and engaging.
- Integrate the tone of voice from the original YouTube channel into the new editing style, while elevating the overall quality to a higher standard than the original channel.
- Implement sound design on edits
- Ensure use of rights-cleared assets.
- Manage and organise video footage, assets and archives
- Stay up-to-date with video editing software and techniques
Requirements
3+ years of experience in video editing and accompanying showreel, with an emphasis on digital content creation and experience with YouTubeAdvanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro & Creative CloudDemonstrated experience using and creating motion graphics and animations.Excellent video documentary storytelling skillsAlthough not essential, a strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms would be beneficialA passion for Astronomy with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad audienceExperience in sound design, with the ability to integrate audio elements into video projects, is essentialStrong attention to detail and ability to multitaskPrevious experience editing factual documentaries will be considered an advantageExcellent English speaking skillsBenefits
