Descripción del trabajoValid HGV / Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class (e.g., Class 1 / CE, Class 2 / C). Clean driving record. Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings. Knowledge of transport laws, hours of service regulations, and vehicle safety. Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (if applicable for loading / unloading). Good communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and navigate routes. This position is based in Ireland.
Operates heavy goods vehicles (trucks, lorries) to transport goods over long or short distances. Ensures safe and timely delivery, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and adheres to all road and transport regulations.
Key Duties :
- Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for the transport of goods.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes and schedules.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure strapping and weight distribution.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report defects.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to tachograph rules, driving hours regulations, and road safety laws.
- Communicate with dispatchers and clients.
